LightPointe Case Study: Garden State Produce Center

Overview Garden State Produce Center in Chelsea, Massachusetts, one of the largest produce warehouses in New England, planned to occupy an adjacent building in the neighboring town of Everett, but faced a dilemma associated with connecting its physical data networks. Because Garden State's second warehouse is located across a railroad track with no right-of-way access, trenching fiber-optic cable was not an option for connecting the buildings' networks. Company officials looked into leasing fiber-optic cable from the local phone company and various carriers but were put off by the high cost. AIRLINX installed a LightPointe optical wireless system on rooftops at Garden State Produce Center's Chelsea and Everett warehouses, and the company received immediate network connectivity.
