Adobe Systems Case Study: University of Texas System TeleCampus

Overview In hospital emergency rooms, complex decision-making is a warp-speed process. Juggling diagnostic, ethical, legal and public-safety concerns is a daunting task - particularly when a patient exhibits psychotic behavior. There is a worldwide need for online, scaleable training for healthcare workers that is time and cost efficient. An Emergency Room (ER) psychiatric case study module, developed by the University of Texas (UT) System TeleCampus at Austin and the UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, provides web-based Continuing Medical Education (CME) for healthcare workers, and training for medical students and interns. The flexible module combines the rich presentation values of Macromedia Flash with the standards-compliant efficiency of the Blackboard learning management system.
