Adobe Systems Case Study: University of Nevada, Reno

Overview University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is one of eight institutions within the university and community college system of Nevada. In preparing students for 21st-century careers, UNR embraced the importance of digital communications skills and hands-on learning. Faculty at the College of Business Administration (COBA) and the Reynolds School of Journalism wanted their undergraduates to learn about the web from both theoretical and practical perspectives. UNR developed three unique courses - Information Systems 301, Marketing 380 and Journalism 204 - that provide a mix of discipline-specific subject matter and hands-on digital design skills. Students in all three courses use Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004, one of the leading products found in Macromedia Studio MX 2004, to learn the rudiments of digital communications.
