Getting the Most Out of Your HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array 4Gb/s Investment White Paper

Overview The long-awaited 4Gb/s Fibre Channel standard for storage is here, and products from leading vendors like HP are currently available. Companies can transition to 4Gb/s technology today easily and without impacting their storage budget. Best of all, the transition is evolutionary. Initially, 4Gb/s technology will appear in switches for switch-to-switch communications and in the host interface of the array, such as HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA). The biggest benefit of the 4Gb/s interface at the array's host interface will be faster continuous access, which may be needed by organizations doing storage replication, as when using HP replication products, and for faster access to cache.
