Central DuPage Hospital Improves Patient Care With IP Communications System

Overview For seriously ill patients who need their nurse's attention immediately, every second counts. Central DuPage Hospital is an independent healthcare network in the western suburbs of Chicago that is ranked among the top 100 cardiovascular hospitals in the country. The hospital's IT group wanted to replace the cell phones because calls to them could not be integrated into a central call-management program - and therefore could not be transferred or conferenced. Further, they were an expensive resource. The hospital replaced the costly, less-effective cell phones with Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920s.
