HP OpenView TeMIP Provides Carrier With a Single Network-Management View That Enables Faster Problem Resolution and More Satisfied Customers
Overview
Embratel was created in 1965 as a state-owned company; the long-distance carrier and voice, data, and IP backbone was privatized and came under the control of MCI in 1998 until Telmex bought the company in late 2004. Brazilian telecommunications giant Embratel didn't have an end-to-end management view of its heterogeneous network, resulting in problematic network management as well as time-consuming and labor-intensive problem resolution. The company relies on multiple vendors, including Alcatel, Siemens, Nortel, Marconi, and NEC, to manage the various facets of its network. After evaluating several competitive solutions, Embratel selected OpenView TeMIP from HP as the best choice to resolve its network management challenges.
