A Method to Support High Data Transmission Rate in Ad-Hoc Networks Based on Bluetooth

Overview This paper proposes the new Ad-Hoc network topology called "DoublePico" (Double Piconet) for overcoming low data transmission rate in a scatternet which is constructed by bluetooth's piconets. To construct the DoublePico, the node which performs the function of the relay station, has two bluetooth devices, moreover it has to form two different piconets; every node can make a link between two different piconets. Two different piconets are linked in one node by the link with the two bluetooth devices thereby forming the Ad-Hoc network. This paper presents the method of DoublePico which supports about 457 kbps of the maximum data transmission rate.
