Open Source Organization Modernizes Its Architecture With SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server and Reduces Administration Time by 50 Percent
Overview The Eclipse Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that supports the Eclipse open source community, a community committed to developing a universal development platform. With approximately 1.2 million page views a day and 10 terabytes of data transferred each month, the Eclipse Foundation Web site was under constant strain. As more companies join the Foundation and as Eclipse technologies gain popularity, the organization needed a new infrastructure to support future growth. The organization needed a Linux distribution with high availability to better serve its users. Eclipse selected SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server to run its diversified environment including four HP Integrity rx2600 servers with Intel Itanium 2 processors, as well as three IBM eServer p5 550 servers powered by POWER5 processors.
