Novell Cures Cornwall Health Authority's IT Infrastructure

Overview Hosted by Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, Cornwall Health Informatics Service provides technical support to over 12,000 health professionals including general practitioners (GPs), primary care trusts and acute care hospitals. The authority began a strategic review of its IT requirements in April 2000 with a number of objectives. Cornwall wanted to introduce remote access to e-mail and corporate resources for employees working from remote offices or from home, and for those requiring access to patient records while on the move. The organization also needed to protect the network from virus attacks and manage access to confidential patient information. After evaluating different technology, Cornwall Health Informatics Service opted for a Novell solution to help them meet its business objectives.
