Defense Lab Makes Document Management Easier and More Efficient - With RFID

Overview With over 5000 scientists and 25,000 other scientific, technical and supporting personnel, this leading defense research organization has been engaged in developing defense technologies in various disciplines for the Indian defense services. The existing document tracking system was not adequate for the increasing security needs. In its drive to continuously enhance its security infrastructure, the organization felt the need for an enhanced and integrated document management system that would identify and locate documents with greater speed and efficiency. RFID tags carrying unique IDs, were affixed to each document. The RFID enabled documents control system facilitated efficient tracking and identification of documents, with enhanced security and traceability.
