RFID in the Fashion Industry

Overview With line items made in different colors and sizes, RFID smart tags and labels can be used to reduce the complexity of stocktaking within the supply chain and to speed up the distribution process. Smart labels not only overcome the inherent limitations of traditional barcode technology, but also provide new marketing opportunities. For the fashion industry this is particularly important in terms of authentication, accurate inventory control and checking multiple items in and out of the various stages of the supply chain. Philips' I·CODE ICs enable a highly automated scanning process that does not require line of sight and can scan multiple items at once.
