Use this template to quickly create an all-purpose calendar in Word
Overview
When you need a simple way to track events and tasks, build a no-frills monthly calendar with a single button click.
If you've ever used Word's calendar wizard, you may have found that it's heavy on cosmetic effects and light on practicality. And although Outlook will let you print a blank calendar that comes a little closer in terms of usability, it's an eight-step process. So we created a Word template that's designed to cut to the chase. To produce a stripped-down appointment calendar you can use to stay on top of tasks, activities, or milestones, just create a new document from the template, click where you want to start entering dates, and specify the number of days in the month. The template will insert the dates, and in a couple of seconds, you'll have a document you can use online or print and take with you. We've included a PDF instruction sheet that explains the steps.
Our goal was ease of use and simplicity, but this template could certainly be more robust. If you'd like to see some additional functionality incorporated into it--or you've added some enhancements to it that make it more usable for you--join the discussion or drop us a note and let us know. We might end up with a full-featured (but customized to be genuinely useful) calendar tool before it's all over.
