Intel, Computer Creations and Polar Inc.: Upgrading a Distribution and Manufacturing Firm's Hardware and Software Functionality to Make Information Available to All

Overview Polar Inc.'s aging accounting application and cumbersome data-updating process were bringing down efficiency and productivity exponentially. They needed to add functionality for the remote offices to be able to capture data to send back to management - and also to be able to tie into the accounting database, which they weren't doing. The Computer Creations team responded with a carefully customized solution, utilizing Intel Pentium 4 processors supporting Hyper-Threading technology, Intel Xeon processors and Intel Centrino mobile technology to accommodate the client's growing needs. To meet the company's expanding needs, an SQL-based accounting application was deployed. Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2000 was chosen as the OS to simultaneously accommodate the SQL-based accounting application, communication and collaboration.
