City of Peterborough Automates Identity Management for an Initial Reduction of User Passwords by 50 Percent, and Positions Itself to Provide Secure Citizen-Focused Services

Overview The City of Peterborough is located in the heart of east/central Ontario's recreation and tourist area - the Kawartha Lakes. Peterborough Technology Services (PTS) provides information technology services to the City of Peterborough. To provide more e-government services to citizens, PTS needed an identity management foundation that would provide secure online access. PTS hired Novell Consulting to implement a Novell identity and access management solution to provide its 850 users with secure access to disparate applications. PTS also selected Novell ZENworks to manage its desktops. Novell Consulting had a great methodology that involved all the right stakeholders in the project.
