Overview The name 'Malware' describes any computer software that has the intent to perform an action on a host computer without the owners consent. This may be an attempt to infiltrate the security, cause data loss or return information to the author. Spyware is designed for commercial gain of the author. Spyware does not self-replicate but rather installs on the host from a requested website. This malware is defined as software on the machine that causes unintended actions for profit, such as redirecting a users homepage, modifying affiliate code on visited websites to take ownership of adverts or simply return user information to the author.
