Reporting and Control in Converged VPN Solutions
Overview
In an Alcatel survey, 86% of the enterprise IT executives approached said they would consider a managed communications service only if certain reporting and control conditions were met. Further, there is currently an industry focus on service assurance and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for voice and video over IP.
Clearly, there is a need to consider carefully the reporting and control features of any new Virtual Private Network (VPN) offering. This article will offer service providers a solution for providing these features on Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS) and Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS) 2547-based VPN offerings.
