Denver Health Relies on Blue Coat to Prevent Spyware From Infecting 3,200 PCs
Overview Denver Health, formerly known as Denver General Hospital, is the Rocky Mountain Region's Level 1 academic trauma center, and the safety net hospital for the Denver area. Denver Health relies on individual PCs and the Internet for their physician order entry system (POE), where doctors and nurses utilize computers to collect patient information at the beginning and end of patient visits. But an increase in spyware infections across the Denver Health network was severely impacting the process and computer performance. Denver Health solved their spyware problem with Blue Coat's preventive gateway anti-spyware solution, which combines the Blue Coat Proxy SG and Proxy AV appliances to stop "drive-by" spyware installations, control downloads and installations from known spyware Web sites.
