IBM Case Study: Hennepin County

Overview Hennepin is an urban county with a population of over 1.1 million people in 46 municipalities. Initially, Hennepin County approached IBM with a requirement to reduce their software costs in March 2002. The IBM Software Migration Project Office (SMPO) responded with a product mapping of the Hennepin County's ISV software tools to IBM tools and financial estimates for the migration effort. The SMPO team and the Hennepin IS team focused on the following migrations from Computer Associates (CA): CA/7 to Tivoli Workload Scheduler, CA/MICS to Tivoli Decision Support /390 and Accounting Workstation Option, CA/OPS/MVS to Systems Automation /390, CA/ACF2 to RACF, and CA/Insight DB2 to DB2 Performance Monitor.
