ITIL Process Implementation - A Perspective

Overview Implementing the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service process is a challenge today for an IT service providing organisation. This paper aims to provide a framework of project management to achieve an effective implementation of the ITIL service process. The project management is to establish clear and achievable objectives, periodically check whether objectives are being met and take corrective actions on any discrepancies. This paper also briefly highlights challenges during planning, implementation, and post implementation. For each phase of the implementation, the Entry Criteria, Tasks, Validation and Verification, and Exit Criteria are established using ETVX model. The risks involved in each phase are also stated.
