Improving Operations, Reducing Risk, and Verifying Compliance With Better IT Controls
Overview In the past five years, government regulations for reporting, disclosing, and auditing corporate records and electronic data have changed the face of IT. Organizations have had to change the way they handle records while simultaneously demonstrating that the changes implemented comply with the new regulations. These new tracking and reporting functions have resulted in a completely new layer of IT infrastructure. The two most often adopted frameworks by surveyed companies are COBIT and ITIL. COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology) is a set of open standards for security and control practices that includes audit guides for more than 30 IT processes. ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) is a set of practices for IT service delivery and infrastructure management.
