Overview Established under the 1976 Gas Act, Bord Gais Eireann transmits, distributes, and supplies natural gas and electricity on the island of Ireland. The company wanted to integrate financial management and purchasing to gain consolidated view of corporate performance and cash flow and to enforce consistent processes across the organization and cut overheads and reduce process cycle times through automated processes and integrated business flows. The company implemented Oracle Database to ensure commonality and reusability of data across all processes and used Oracle Financials to manage income and payables through a single general ledger. They enforced financial discipline and strengthened internal controls by standardizing on Oracle's best-practice applications.
