Oil Giant Outsources Support to HP's SAP Competence Centre

Overview Lukoil is Russia's largest oil group and is seen as one of the country's leading companies for openness and transparency. To support that transparency for investors and management, Lukoil formed its subsidiary Litasco to handle all the crude oil and oil products that it exports from Russia. When Lukoil management in Moscow formed a group strategy to adopt SAP enterprise resource planning applications (ERP), Litasco became the first subsidiary to use SAP - adopting the sales, purchasing, finance and contract management modules. Having rejected strong challenges from both IBM and Sun, Litasco turned to HP for a more integrated approach that would offer improved price/performance combined with enhanced flexibility.
