Garderos Case Study: VTR

Overview VTR Broadband is a subsidiary of North American UnitedGlobalCom, the largest provider of services for communications and broadband outside the USA. In order to maximize the usage rate of its cable network, VTR decided to provide broadband Internet access not only to offices and homes but also to hotels and restaurants, so-called "Public Hotspots". They decided to use its cable network to provide Public Wireless LAN (PWLAN) services. VTR needed to ensure high efficiency of hotspot deployment and management as well as convenience for business nomads using PWLAN services. Therefore, the operator selected Garderos Software Innovations to deliver its PWLAN infrastructure software.
