Gordon College Deploys the Alcatel OmniAccess 4100 WLAN

Overview Gordon College, founded in 1889, is located in Wenham, Massachusetts on nearly 500 acres of lakes and woodlands. Gordon College found itself being outpaced by high schools that had deployed wireless networks. The solution implemented had to be flexible to facilitate future upgrades and support of new products. The college wanted to reduce cost by minimize the amount of rewiring necessary, and wanted to be able to perform network management via the web. Gordon College deployed a network for 2,000 users spread over a 20 building campus. Gordon implemented OmniAccess 4100 WLAN products, including OmniAccess WLAN 4012 and OmniAccess 1200 plenum rated, cast aluminum access points and handoff of multiple service set identifiers.
