Overview As a private service provider of sanitary sewer services, Fishers, IN-based Hamilton Southeastern Utilities, Inc. (HSE) serves a 38,000-acre area with 36,000 customers. HSE together with its facility management contractor, Sanitary Management and Engineering Company, Inc. (SAMCO), and The Schneider Corporation, an Indianapolis, IN-based consulting firm with expertise in civil engineering, GIS and surveying, have recently implemented a number of strategic GIS solutions that address such HSE challenges as integrating surveying and GIS technologies to streamline utility-locate processes. HSE has implemented a base station network that uses Schneider's V.link for retrieving Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS correction data via the Internet and V.locate for receiving, filtering, sorting and prioritizing utility locate requests.
