Tatara Mobile Services Convergence: Vodafone Ireland Case Study

Overview Vodafone Ireland is the largest operator in Ireland with 1.9 million customers and a market share in excess of 50%. As part of its strategy to offer customers a consistent, branded experience and broaden the range of communications services it offers, Vodafone wanted to offer its users a branded Wi-Fi experience. Users would be able to consolidate their Wi-Fi billing with their other mobile communications whichever Wi-Fi hotspot they used. To implement this service, Vodafone partnered with Tatara Systems. Tatara System's solution for Vodafone Ireland provides guaranteed secure authentication, and passes the information to Vodafone Ireland's M-Pay system, enabling the company to invoice customers for both WLAN and wide area wireless services on the same bill.
