Distributed Wireless Geomatics Kit

Overview Satellite navigation technology, such as Global Positioning Systems (GPS), has been extensively applied for real-time location and guidance in energy and resources operations. On the other hand, Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) technology has proven to be a spatially enabled approach to managing vast amounts of geophysical and geological data collected from the field. GIS/GPS integration has been researched for years. However, integration has not reached the degree that satisfies the requirements for energy and resources operations where real-time, distributed and field-to-office information management and access is crucial to productivity. The objectives of this paper investigate a new technology for real-time mobile information management in support of energy and resources operations.
