Los Angeles Shortens Lines and Trims Traffic With Autodesk MapGuide

Overview The City of Los Angeles' Bureau of Engineering (BOE) manages the design and construction of all public facilities - including streets and sewers - in Los Angeles, issues construction permits, and maintains the City's GIS (Geographic Information Systems). For a city that sprawls over 750 squares miles, uses 6,500 miles of sewer system, and issues almost 16,000 permits annually, this is no small challenge. To help manage the enormous task, the BOE built the NavigateLA (http://navigatela.lacity.org) website. Powered by Autodesk MapGuide, NavigateLA streamlines everything from permit issuance to public works projects.
