Internet Operations Center Case Study: Pontiac Schools-Wireless Network

Overview Pontiac Schools needed to design a system to allow teachers to create/grade quizzes, pass out homework assignments and communicate with parents using a PDA. A major drawback to most programs is that each student must individually synchronize the PDA via infra-red "beaming" technology. With large numbers of students per classroom, individual beaming is not feasible. IOC needed to architect a system that would allow anyone, from anywhere in the classroom, to send and receive data concurrently.
