Scania is the fourth largest manufacturer of buses, coaches and trucks in the world. Having worldwide operations is a challenge when it comes to the Scania's IT infrastructure, due to the mixture of computer environments. The backup solution used previously by Scania was mainframe-based. It became clear that a new solution would be required when support for the mainframe solution was no longer available. Legato NetWorker was chosen as the software for the new solution. The long term goal is that the system will be able to handle backups of the corporation's entire global network.
