Overview The Department of Health and Human Services is the United States government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans. A significant portion of the data processing services within HHS are provided by the Program Support Center, an operating division that administers 60,000 grants and handles more than 900 million Medicare claims per year. PCS needed a fast, reliable, and scalable backup system customized for mission critical applications on numerous platforms. To increase the level of automation at PSC, IMS Systems and ADIC teamed up to provide a Scalar 1000 tape library.
