Federation Products: Building Blocks of a Growing Federation Ecosystem
Overview Web access management (WAM) and stand-alone federation products provide the bulk of federated identity protocol support, offering enterprises a wide selection to choose from. Federation support is also expanding into a number of other product areas, resulting in a growing federation product ecosystem that can support many business application scenarios. After an extensive beta testing period, IBM introduced the Tivoli Federated Identity Manager (TFIM) version 6.0 in May 2005. The product is a package of services that is integrated into Tivoli Access Manager and provides support for browser and web services federation scenarios.
