Holiday E-Tail Performance Index 2004
Overview The 2004-2005 holiday shopping season was a very telling one for many online retailers. With the seemingly ever-growing popularity of online shopping, retailers are becoming more and more reliant on the Internet channel to drive revenue. The E-tail index itself consists of benchmarked availability and response time data for 20+ of the biggest online retailers' web applications during the weeks leading up to, and including, the holiday season. The data that follows provides no measurement of the actual financial impact on the listed businesses, but it does provide clues into the effectiveness of the investments made by those businesses to keep their web applications fast and available during this revenue-critical time.
