Cerritos Library: Maximizing User-Friendliness With Greater Efficiency

Overview The Cerritos Library is a popular center of information and learning for the residents of Cerritos, California. In conjunction with increasing the facility's size, the library also sought to expand the scope and quality of technology in the library. At the time, Cerritos used an electromagnetic security system. After seeing the more extensive capabilities of Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) systems, the library decided RFID provided the most effective answer for enhanced operating efficiencies and patron service. A project planning team evaluated available RFID systems and selected Checkpoint's Intelligent Library System (ILS).
