Case Study: iCrystal

Overview The Victoria Police were looking for an easier way to stock-take its forensic library of firearms, which included 4000 items ranging from pistols to machine guns. Various RFID solutions were identified to suit different types of firearms. In addition to a system that provided accurate tracking of weapons in and out of the library, they were also looking for a solution that assisted with location identification for items on loan combined with transfer of responsibility to the borrower. iCrystal introduced an RFID solution combined with two dimension barcoding (INFODOTS) for the small firearms to replace the error prone metal tag labelling method.
