Clalit Health Services: End-to-End Intel Architecture Delivers Just-in-Time Info to Cut Costs and Enhance Care

Overview Israel's Clalit Health Services Group needed to improve patient care and reduce costs by enabling faster and better decisions among its 22,800 doctors, nurses and administrative staff. Its legacy infrastructure was expensive, unwieldy, and difficult to update and maintain. By implementing its end-to-end solution, Clalit chose a system using Intel Xeon processor-based servers running dbMotion information integration software to link 10,000 users in Clalit facilities across Israel, including 14 hospitals and hundreds of clinics and pharmacies, covering 65 per cent of the Israeli health market. To access patient records using dbMotion, healthcare professionals use desktop PCs based on the Intel Pentium 4 and laptop computers based on Intel Centrino mobile technology and WLAN.
