The Perfect Doubles Match: Wimbledon Press Scores With Wireless System From IBM and Cisco

Overview The All England Lawn Tennis Club required faster, more efficient networking facilities for press personnel reporting internationally on Wimbledon fortnight. IBM was asked to create a system whereby 'just-in-time' photographic and copy transfers could be made, instantly and reliably, between onsite workstations and, externally, to reporters' publications and sportsdesks throughout the world. To design and implement the desired solution, IBM enlisted skills and product support from its strategic alliance partner Cisco Systems. Cisco's Catalyst Ethernet Switches with Ciscoworks Network management were deployed.
