Accounting Standards Compliance Met With GIS

Overview The city of Painesville, Ohio's utility services include electric, water, sewer, and storm water. The city has set up a system for government regulation compliance by using GIS. The advantage of this requirement is that the GIS supports asset management for electric operations, system maintenance, and capital improvement planning. The city contracted with Metcalf & Eddy (M&E) to implement a GIS for utility management built on ArcGIS. M&E set up the GIS database structure using ArcGIS and ArcSDE.
