KeyCorp Puts Its Money on StorageTek Virtual Tape Solution

Overview As KeyCorp considered the future of its data storage environment, it looked to drive out costs and increase the efficiency of its data center. At the time, Key was using an IBM Virtual Tape Server (VTS) that worked in tandem with eight leased StorageTek tape silos. With the leases approaching expiration, Key began studying options for its storage future. StorageTek offered a comprehensive solution that enabled Key to make optimal use of virtual tape and high-capacity physical tape. The solution provided both a lower capital cost and a lower total cost of ownership compared with Key's previous storage solution.
