Overview Barclays Global Investors is one of the world's largest asset managers providing structured investment strategies such as risk-controlled active strategies and indexing. While launching a new version of the company's public Internet site in 2001, the IT development team at BGI also began evaluating online collaboration technology applications that could provide employees a more centralized and efficient knowledge-sharing environment. BGI selected Vignette collaboration software as the foundation for deploying BGI "IQ," a system comprising online workspaces that facilitate project and document management to help bring products to market more efficiently; team- and project-based communication; information archiving and searches; and a host of other activities related to helping employees work together more effectively.
