Best Practices for Replicating Oracle SANs
Overview This technical white paper from HP presents the results of tests it conducted to determine the efficacy of three different strategies for replicating Oracle databases over long distances between primary and remote HP StorageWorks XP arrays. The strategies that were tested involve two different technologies and approaches—one using a real-time, array-based data replication system, and the other using a host and log-based replication system that updates data at intervals. A third approach that integrates these two technologies was also tested.
