Modulation Techniques in Bluetooth Wireless Technology

Overview Bluetooth is a digital communications protocol that is still in its infancy. Potentially it will connect many of the portable devices one has today such as PDA's and laptops, allowing them to communicate with each other directly without the need for a central hub. Bluetooth faces challenges with interference because of the frequency band that it operates in. To overcome the potential problem of saturated airwaves, Bluetooth developers have combined several modulation schemes, including Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying and Spread Spectrum via frequency hopping.
