Bezeq Pilots WiMAX Services in Israel Using Alvarion's Non-Certified BreezeMAX Products

Overview Bezeq is Israel's national telecommunications provider. Bezeq purchased and deployed a WiMAX pilot using Alvarion's WiMAX-ready equipment (non-certified), BreezeMAX 3500, to provide broadband in the southern Israeli city of Rahat, an underserved community located in the Negev desert. Bezeq is now developing plans to extend the network to other communities in southern Israel. This WiMAX pilot builds on an already strong relationship between the two companies. Over the years, Alvarion has supplied Bezeq with wireless systems to deploy thousands of wireless connections for voice and data services throughout Israel.
