GPRS: Wireless Links, Multiple Base Transmitter Stations, Base Station Controller and Cell Update

Overview The General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a new packed switched service which is an addition to the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM), a wireless cellular network. It supplements today's circuit switched data and short message service. This paper describes a project that has been done as an enhancement to an existing GPRS OPNET model; OPNET is a network simulation tool. The current model consists of multiple Mobile Stations (MS), which are connected through wired links to the Base Transmitter Station (BTS).
