Performance Analysis of Bluetooth Piconets Under Mutual Interference Using Bit Error Rate

Overview In this paper, the performance of the Bluetooth piconets under the mutual interference is analyzed. As a performance measure, the packet error probability (PEP) is used. The PEP is obtained from the bit error rate (BER) and the collision length of packet. Not only the hit probability but also the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) is considered for the analysis. The performance under the mutual interference from a single Bluetooth interferer is analyzed at first. And the analysis is expanded to the mutual interference from multiple Bluetooth interferers. The simulation results are shown to prove the analysis.
