Overview Shaw Communications, Inc., located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is a diversified Canadian communications company whose core business is providing broad band cable television, Internet, and satellite direct-to-home services to approximately 2.9 million customers. The challenge was a transition to functioning as an end-to-end Internet Service Provider by designing and implementing world-class datacenter; application and platform infrastructure for continued expansion of communication service offerings. Sun designed architecture and infrastructure build for datacenter powering broadband services, and application services powered by Sun Java System components residing on Sun Enterprise and Netra servers connected to SAN powered by Sun StorEdge hardware and software technologies.
