Predicting and Preventing Performance Bottlenecks in Oracle 10g

Overview Databases are dynamic environments and DBAs are tasked with ensuring that future performance and end user satisfaction are not affected by changes that will be made to the database. Typical changes in databases such as migration to Oracle 10g, upgrades, moving from development to production or changing parameter settings can greatly impact performance. For a DBA, ensuring that performance gains are realized and not lost can be technically challenging and time-consuming. This paper presents a methodology for predicting and preventing performance bottlenecks in Oracle 10g with Quest Central for Oracle.
