QUALCOMM Case Study: Unisys

Overview Unisys is a worldwide information technology services and solutions company providing systems integration, infrastructure and server technologies. Unisys sought to improve its customer service through widespread adoption of mobile data devices and mobility applications to create a more efficient and productive service and installation call ticketing system. Unisys deployed more than 1,500 Audiovox PPC 6601 smartphones across North America to enable the Customer Infrastructure Representatives (CIRs) to check ticket status and update or close their calls in real time. The CDMA2000 1X solution was deployed across the Sprint nationwide network and tied into the mainframe database at headquarters.
