Overview CEMIG, the largest electric distribution system in Latin America, services a huge land mass that covers approximately 96% of the state of Minas Gerais, and services more than 6 million consumers. Despite the company's size, the financial planning and analysis department at CEMIG used Excel spreadsheets to develop complex strategic planning and forecasting models. The planning department needed a system that could maintain accounting integrity, but easily handle changes in a consolidation structure that encompassed both regulated and non-regulated businesses. CEMIG chose Hyperion Strategic Finance.
