Leading Central American Bank Counts on Hyperion Business Modeling for Profitability Analysis, Cost Determination and Process Modeling

Overview As the largest bank in Central America with US$2.6 billion in assets, 140 branches and 246 automatic tellers, Banco Nacional de Costa Rica offers a full range of personal and corporate financial services. More than 4,400 employees are involved in commercial banking, stocks and bonds, pension and investment funds, and more. With so many products, it was important for the bank to learn the true cost and profitability for each, yet it was struggling to obtain the information necessary to perform that analysis. Working with Van der Leer, a Hyperion distributor and consulting partner, Banco Nacional de Costa Rica implemented Hyperion Business Modeling. The Hyperion software enables bank personnel to determine costs, capacity, activity levels and product volume.
